CyanRace®

Racehorse Performance

CyanRace® is an innovative solution specifically developed to support racehorse performance. This unique liquid formula combines phycocyanin at a concentration of 6,000 mg/L with vitamin E and selenium, providing comprehensive nutritional support to help improve endurance and recovery in equine athletes.

Benefits

Phycocyanine (6 000 mg/l): A protein pigment extracted from spirulina, known for its powerful antioxidant properties. It helps protect muscles from damage caused by oxidative stress and supports recovery after exercise.

Vitamin E: An essential antioxidant that works synergistically with phycocyanin to help protect cells against free radicals. It plays an important role in muscle health and immune function, while also supporting the body’s inflammatory response and cardiovascular health.

Sélénium: An essential trace element that contributes to cell protection and proper immune system function. Selenium also supports the synthesis of glutathione, an important antioxidant, thereby helping strengthen the body’s natural defences against intense physical stress.

Why use liquid phycocyanin for horses at 6,000 mg/L following this protocol?

Recommended protocol

Daily use: One 10 mL single dose of liquid phycocyanin (6,000 mg/L), given daily with the horse’s first feed.

During competition periods: One additional 10 mL single dose one hour before competition, in addition to the usual daily dose.

Rationale for the daily use of liquid phycocyanin

Preserved antioxidant properties

In its liquid form, phycocyanin retains its antioxidant properties thanks to the preservation of its native structure. These properties play an important role in:

1. Neutralising free radicals.

2. Reducing inflammation.

3. Supporting cellular regeneration, which is particularly important for horses undergoing intense physical exertion.

By contrast, phycocyanin in dry form may lose some of its antioxidant capacity during freeze-drying or dehydration processes, which can affect its sensitive molecular structure.

Enhanced absorption

In liquid form, phycocyanin is rapidly absorbed by the body, helping to ensure optimal bioavailability. This can maximise its effects, which is particularly relevant for racehorses.

Rationale for use before competitions

Reducing oxidative stress

Competition generates significant oxidative stress as a result of intense physical exertion. An additional dose before competition can help limit this stress and may contribute to reducing:

  1. Muscle soreness.
  2. Premature fatigue.
  3. Tissue damage associated with free radicals.

Supporting performance

  1. Phycocyanin supports cellular energy production and may help optimise oxygen availability in muscle tissue, thereby supporting endurance and responsiveness.
  2. Supporting focus and calmness: by contributing to overall physiological balance, phycocyanin may help horses remain focused during competition while also helping to limit anxiety.

Why choose liquid phycocyanin for horses?

  1. Preservation of antioxidant properties: In liquid form, phycocyanin retains its natural structure, which is important for its biological properties. Dry forms, by contrast, may undergo molecular changes through oxidation or thermal degradation, potentially reducing their antioxidant activity.
  2. Rapid action: The liquid form is quickly absorbed, which is particularly valuable before competitions, when rapid availability is desirable.
  3. Bioavailability: Liquid phycocyanin is readily assimilated through the horse’s digestive system, supporting efficient absorption and utilisation.

This protocol has therefore been specifically designed to support horse health and performance while making full use of the properties of liquid phycocyanin.
