Cellular Health

An Innovative Approach

The Horse Facing Multiple Demands

Intense exercise, repeated training, transport, stress, changes in environment and ageing all require the horse’s body to adapt continuously.

These demands can be associated with issues well known to owners and equine professionals, including fatigue and difficult recovery, muscle or joint sensitivity, digestive discomfort, respiratory vulnerability and reduced overall condition.

In sport and racehorses, intense exercise also increases the production of reactive oxygen species. When the body’s antioxidant defences are no longer sufficient to maintain balance, oxidative stress occurs.

→ This is precisely where cellular health becomes especially relevant.

Preserving the Body’s Natural Balance

Cells naturally have defence and adaptation mechanisms that enable them to respond to the different demands placed on the body.

CYANOPHY Laboratoire’s approach is to support these natural mechanisms, with particular attention to oxidative balance and cellular protection.

It is within this framework that our research has focused on phycocyanin, a protein pigment naturally found in spirulina and extensively studied for its antioxidant properties.
